Before Sanifu, my shop was one table and a shelf in Kariakoo. I sold to whoever walked past on my street, and on a slow week I made almost nothing. I signed up for DigiSoko because a neighbour told me they taught women how to sell online. I did not really believe it would work for someone like me.
The first thing they helped me do was simple. We put my products on WhatsApp Business, set clear prices, and worked out how to accept mobile payments without losing track of anything. Within a month I was taking orders from customers I had never met, in parts of the city I had never visited.
Growing past my own street
Over two years I built a small online business that now delivers to Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, and Dodoma. I brought on four other women from my area to help me pack orders, answer customers, and manage deliveries. We train each other now. What I learn, I pass on.
