A continent-wide platform for the next generation of builders.
Astrafrica is the pan-African umbrella for the Astra-tier programs, connecting youth, women, and people living with disabilities to a coordinated pathway from discovery to leadership.
Overview & objectives
Astrafrica brings the four Astra programs (Sparks, Igniters, Novas, Luminaries) under a single, intentional progression, giving a continental network the structure and support to grow from first contact with technology to leadership of inclusive ecosystems.
- 01
Coordinate the four Astra-tier programs into one developmental pathway.
- 02
Build cross-country cohorts that span Tanzania, Burundi, Uganda, and beyond.
- 03
Open access to pan-African mentor networks and partner ecosystems.
- 04
Centre inclusive design from day one, women, PWDs, and underrepresented youth lead.
How it works
Entry-point cohorts run continuously in each country, surfacing curious newcomers and giving them a first structured exposure to tech and leadership.
Once participants have signalled commitment, they progress into builder cohorts where they ship real projects with practitioner mentorship.
The most accomplished alumni join a continental fellowship that supports them in leading their own ventures, communities, and policy work.
